Spend a few pleasant hours in the company of a beekeeper/painter, who will introduce you to the practical and artistic sides of beekeeping. Learn about the secret life of bees and master the techniques of beehive panel painting.

Painted beehive panels are a feature of Slovenian folk culture. Front beehive panels are painted with religious and secular motifs by beekeepers themselves or even painters. You too will be able to roll up your sleeves and test your painting mettle. You do not need any prior knowledge to attend the workshop, as you will be guided through the traditional multi-phase painting process by academic painter and beekeeper Anja Bunderla. After learning about the bees and painting techniques, you will end this pleasant gathering with a snack made with homemade honey.
